What is the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC)?
The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps is a youth development and leadership program that provides young people with opportunities to develop leadership, responsibility, discipline, teamwork, physical fitness, and practical skills. Cadets participate in military-style drills and hands-on training in areas ranging from seamanship and aviation to medicine, cybersecurity and engineering.

“Will Sea Cadets be good for my child?”
Sea Cadets can be an excellent fit for young people who want to challenge themselves, become more confident, learn leadership, work as part of a team and experience opportunities they may not get elsewhere. A cadet does not need to arrive already disciplined, physically fit or knowledgeable about the Navy. What matters most is a willingness to learn, participate and improve.

The mission of the organization is to build leaders of character through the ideals of honor, respect, commitment and service.

Become a Cadet

Sea Cadets is a uniquely demanding youth leadership program that upholds high standards of conduct, physical fitness, and academic performance. To help new cadets begin their Sea Cadet journey successfully, most units accept new members only in September and January.
